Our Response To COVID-19
Hello!
My name is Jonathan Sutton and I am the Director of Three Deep Leadership Academy; a summer program based in North Minneapolis on the corner of Oak Park and Penn Ave. Normally we would already be 2-3 weeks into our program, but the safety of the students and families we serve is of the utmost importance to us, and we realize that with the COVID-19 crisis our nation is facing, that very safety could be in jeopardy with the format of our summer camp. With that being said, we also recognize the value and importance of providing programming to children during this time and want to continue to do so for our community. So, we have invested a lot of time and resources to creating a solution that we believe allows us to do both, and one we would like to invite your children, or children you know in your community, to participate in!
For the next two weeks, we will be offering free activities for children at North Commons park from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Tuesdays through Thursdays. These activities have been planned out and designed by our staff with the safety of children in mind. We have also consulted with healthcare workers to ensure we do all that we can to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure for both families, and our staff members. We will have hand sanitizer readily available for use, and other sanitizing materials that will be used regularly. We will not have masks to hand out, but our staff will have masks and gloves that they will be required to wear. We will also adhere to the Minneapolis Parks and Rec guidelines for park usage, by doing our best to be socially distant, and have no more than 25 people in our space at a time.
Please keep in mind that public bathrooms at parks are unavailable at this time. We will have water bottles available so children and families can remain hydrated, but we encourage you to bring water from home if you have it as well. Also, our staff will do our best to serve as many children as we can, but we want to make sure we are doing our best to keep everyone safe, and have limited supplies for every craft and activity we do, so please be patient with us as we attempt to give children in our community something to look forward to throughout the coming weeks!
For more information, comments, or concerns, please email me at 3deepleadership@gmail.com, or text me at 612-584-9586.
Hope all is well!
